Police in Jalandhar have made an arrest following a reported house burglary in the Model Town area of the city. The incident, which resulted in the theft of gold jewellery and a significant amount of cash, was reported on Monday.

The complainant, identified as Sanjay Mahajan, resides in House Number 114 on Partap Road within Model Town. According to his statement to the police, the burglary occurred when he and his family were away from their home. Upon returning, they discovered that their house had been broken into.
The thieves made off with valuable items, including gold jewellery weighing approximately 125 grams. Additionally, Rs 15,000 in cash was stolen from the premises. A formal complaint was lodged at the local police station, prompting an immediate investigation.

Acting on the complaint, the police initiated a probe into the matter. Their investigative efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of one individual in connection with the crime. The arrested suspect has been named as Rohit, a resident of Basti Bawa Khel in Jalandhar.
