In the aftermath of the June 9 firecracker factory explosion that claimed eight lives, Jaipur East police launched an extensive crackdown on illegal commercial activities in the Kho Nagoriyan area. Authorities seized 75 illegally stored LPG cylinders and identified seven unauthorised warehouses during a large-scale enforcement drive.
Police Action Against Illegal Operations
SHO Prakash Ram stated that action was taken against illegal LPG refilling operations at six locations during raids conducted under a special campaign initiated following the blast. Separate cases have been registered under the Essential Commodities Act, and efforts are underway to arrest those involved. Officials emphasized that the crackdown is part of a broader investigation into the firecracker factory explosion and other illegally operated units in the area.
Search for Accused Persons
Police teams are continuing searches for accused individuals, including Qayum Khan, Yakub Khan, and Firoz, who are wanted in connection with the firecracker factory case and related investigations. As part of the exercise, approximately 30 police personnel conducted a door-to-door survey in Kho Nagoriyan village and adjoining localities, including Bhavgarh Bandhya, Khori Ropada, Patiyon Ki Dhani, and areas around JNU Hospital. During the survey, police searched nearly 100 houses and inspected warehouses operating in the area.
Sealing of Unauthorised Warehouses
Officials reported that seven warehouses allegedly operating without authorisation and dealing in plastic scrap, textile waste, furniture, and food products were identified and sealed. Notices will be issued to the owners, and details have been forwarded to the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and Jaipur Development Authority for further action. Police also organised neighbourhood committee meetings and urged residents to report illegal industrial and storage activities operating in residential areas.
