Jaipur Police Intensify Crackdown on LPG Black Marketing, Arrest 15 and Seize 461 Cylinders
In a significant move to curb illegal activities, the Jaipur city police have arrested 15 people in a comprehensive crackdown on LPG black marketing. This sustained drive, which commenced on March 10, has resulted in the registration of 19 cases and the seizure of 461 cylinders, addressing widespread complaints about delays in LPG bookings and irregular cylinder supply.
Special Campaign Under Senior Supervision
The operation is being conducted under the direct supervision of Special Commissioner (Operations) Om Prakash, who initiated the campaign in response to numerous public grievances. Officers confirmed on Wednesday that all station house officers have been instructed to prioritize the swift verification and disposal of such complaints, ensuring timely action against offenders.
District-Wise Breakdown of Arrests and Seizures
The crackdown has been implemented across all districts of Jaipur, with notable results:
- District East: Police registered six cases, arrested four persons, and seized 207 cylinders.
- District West: Seven cases were reported, leading to nine arrests and the recovery of 203 cylinders.
- District North: Three cases resulted in one arrest and the seizure of 31 cylinders.
- District South: Three cases were recorded, with one arrest and the recovery of 20 cylinders.
Systemic Checks and Continuous Surveillance
Officers emphasized that the drive extends beyond mere enforcement to include rigorous systemic checks. Nearly 98 LPG agencies within the commissionerate area are now under continuous surveillance. Station house officers, along with CST and DST teams, are conducting regular inspections to prevent future irregularities. Senior officers are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the effectiveness of these measures and maintain public trust in the LPG supply system.
