Jaipur Court Dismisses Petition Against Rahul Gandhi in Caste Remark Case
Jaipur Court Dismisses Petition Against Rahul Gandhi

A district court in Jaipur dismissed a revision petition against Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday. The petition related to alleged caste-based remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Court Upholds Lower Court Order

Additional District Judge Court No. 4 of Metropolitan-II passed the order. Presiding Officer Neelam Karwa rejected the revision petition filed by advocate Vijay Kalandar.

The court stated that the statements of the complainant and other evidence clearly established the petition should be dismissed. The court upheld the earlier order from the lower court.

Petitioner's Arguments

The petitioner argued that the trial court issued its order without properly examining the true facts of the complaint. The petition described Gandhi as the Leader of Opposition in the current Lok Sabha and a responsible citizen.

It alleged that Gandhi repeatedly changed his stated caste while delivering speeches. The petitioner claimed this provoked common citizens and attempted to harm the unity and integrity of the country.

On these grounds, the petitioner sought acceptance of the revision and quashing of the lower court's order.

Case Background

According to case details, the complainant filed a complaint before the lower court in 2025. The complaint alleged that during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Chhattisgarh, Gandhi said PM Modi is not OBC by birth.

It further claimed that the BJP government in Gujarat conferred OBC status on him. The Jaipur court's dismissal now ends this particular legal challenge against the opposition leader.
