Indore Robbery Turns Fatal: Two Arrested for Stabbing Man to Death on MR-4 Road

A shocking incident of violence unfolded on MR-4 Road in Indore when a 45-year-old man was brutally murdered during a failed robbery attempt. According to police officials, the victim was stabbed repeatedly after he resisted the attackers who intended to loot cash and valuables from him.

Discovery of the Crime Scene

The gruesome discovery was made on February 12 when the Bhagirathpura police outpost received information about a blood-soaked body lying along MR-4 Road under the jurisdiction of Banganga police station. A police team immediately rushed to the scene and found the victim with deep cut injuries on his neck and multiple stab wounds across his body.

The deceased was later identified as Khojirram Narange, who was currently residing in a rented house near Laxmibai railway station in Indore. Originally from Devarghata village in Sakti district of Chhattisgarh, Narange worked at Yug Color Lab in the Polo Ground area, as confirmed by family members who spoke to investigators.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Based on a formal complaint filed by the family, Banganga police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Vyas announced that a special investigation team was formed to handle the case.

The investigation team employed multiple approaches:

  • Scanned footage from over 150 CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the crime scene
  • Questioned local residents, shopkeepers, and known offenders in the area
  • Analyzed technical evidence and digital footprints

Through meticulous examination of collected evidence and CCTV inputs, police identified the accused as Aryan alias Laddu Verma, a resident of Redwal Colony in Banganga, and Bharat Verma of Tal Wali Gali, Bhagirathpura. Both suspects were taken into custody and allegedly confessed to the crime during sustained interrogation.

Recovery of Evidence and Confession Details

Police recovered substantial evidence from the accused, including:

  1. The victim's looted wallet containing cash
  2. The victim's mobile phone
  3. The motorcycle used in the commission of the crime
  4. The knife used in the stabbing
  5. The clothes worn by the accused at the time of the murder

During questioning, the accused revealed their modus operandi. They admitted to stopping the victim on the road, threatening him, and assaulting him in an attempt to rob him. When Narange resisted their demands, they attacked him with knives, causing fatal injuries that led to his death on the spot.

The accused further disclosed that they had removed and destroyed the SIM card from the victim's mobile phone, fearing it could be traced. They also damaged the handset before discarding it in an attempt to cover their tracks.

This case highlights the increasing concerns about street crime in urban areas and demonstrates the effectiveness of modern investigative techniques, particularly CCTV surveillance, in solving violent crimes. The police investigation continues as authorities work to build a comprehensive case against the accused.
