Indore Police Crackdown: 3 Venues Raided, Resort Sealed Over New Year Violations
Indore Police Raid Resort, Pub for Licence Violations

In a strict pre-New Year enforcement drive, Indore police launched surprise late-night inspections at multiple entertainment venues in the city's eastern parts. The action was prompted by complaints of noise violations and illegal operations, signalling a zero-tolerance approach ahead of the December 31 celebrations.

Midnight Raids at Tulum Resort and RK Pub

Acting on specific information, police teams swung into action in the Bhawarkuan area on Friday night. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya confirmed that inspections were carried out at three separate locations. One team reached Tulum Resort in the Palda area around 2 am after receiving a complaint about excessively loud music.

During a thorough check of the resort premises, officers made a critical discovery: the establishment did not possess a valid licence to serve liquor. As part of the immediate action, the police seized the sound system and a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) from the site. On-the-spot questioning was conducted, and a formal case was registered against resort owner Ketan Jain along with managers Ajay and Gopal for alleged violation of preventive orders.

Pub Found Operating Despite Being Locked

In a parallel action, the Vijayanagar police unit targeted the RK Pub. Upon arrival, the pub appeared to be locked from the outside, suggesting it was closed. However, when police gained entry, they found that business activities were still ongoing inside. This attempt to disguise operations led authorities to immediately seal the pub premises.

Back at the resort raid, police officers opened several rooms and found a number of youths inside. The authorities meticulously recorded their personal details and phone numbers. An investigation is currently underway to determine the organiser of the party and how the participants were invited.

Strict Warning for New Year's Eve

Officials highlighted that several pubs and bars operate in the eastern sectors of Indore. With the year-end festivities approaching, police have already issued clear instructions to all such establishments regarding compliance with rules and regulations. Authorities have issued a stern warning that any violation of norms during New Year events will result in strict legal action.

This coordinated late-night operation underscores the police department's focus on maintaining law and order and ensuring that celebratory events do not flout established guidelines, particularly concerning noise pollution and legal licensing for serving alcohol.
