Indore Police Crack Down on Illegal Liquor Trade, Arrest Dhaba Operator

In a significant enforcement action, the Indore police have apprehended a dhaba operator allegedly involved in an illegal liquor trade from his establishment located in the Kanadia area. The police operation resulted in the seizure of country-made alcohol valued at approximately Rs 30,000, marking a decisive blow against illicit activities in the region.

Police Raid Uncovers Illicit Stockpile at Dhaba

Acting on a credible tip-off received on April 20, a specialized police team swiftly moved to the Maa Kamakhya Devi dhaba situated in Begam Khedi village. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the operator, identified as Ankit Kelwa, in possession of a substantial quantity of illicit liquor that was being stocked for unauthorized sale.

During the meticulous raid, law enforcement officials recovered a significant haul, including:

Following the arrest, an FIR has been formally registered against Ankit Kelwa under the stringent provisions of the Excise Act. The case is currently under active investigation, with police authorities delving deeper into the matter to uncover additional details and ensure justice is served.

Kanadia police station in-charge Saharsh Yadav emphasized that the police are rigorously questioning the accused to trace the intricate supply chain and identify other individuals potentially involved in this illicit racket. This proactive approach aims to dismantle the network comprehensively and prevent future occurrences.
