Indore Police Arrest 31-Year-Old Man with Cannabis in Palasia Patrol Operation
In a significant crackdown on drug-related activities, the Palasia police in Indore have arrested a 31-year-old man allegedly found in possession of cannabis during a routine patrol operation in the Old Palasia area. The accused, identified as Vicky Borasi, a resident of Badi Gwaltoli, was detained after police spotted him moving suspiciously in a lane behind the PWD office.
Details of the Seizure and Arrest
According to authorities, the police team was conducting a search for suspicious elements in the Palasia area when they noticed Borasi acting in a manner that raised red flags. He was immediately chased and detained for questioning. Upon search, officers recovered 882 grams of cannabis, commonly known as ganja, from his possession, with an estimated street value of approximately Rs 20,000.
In addition to the cannabis, police also seized a motorcycle valued at around Rs 1.5 lakh that Borasi was riding at the time of the incident. Both the narcotics and the vehicle have been confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation.
Confession and Illegal Activities
During interrogation, Vicky Borasi admitted to engaging in illegal drug trade to earn profits. He confessed to purchasing cannabis at lower rates and then selling it at higher prices to addicts in Badi Gwaltoli and nearby localities. This admission highlights a pattern of exploiting vulnerable individuals for financial gain through substance abuse.
"The accused revealed that he was involved in this illicit trade to make quick money," stated ACP Tushar Singh of Sanyogitaganj, who oversaw the operation. "His actions not only violate the law but also contribute to the spread of addiction in the community."

A case has been registered against Borasi under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He has been arrested and is currently facing further legal action as authorities delve deeper into his activities.
Borasi also claimed during questioning that the cannabis was supplied by a local dealer from the same area. Police are actively verifying this claim to identify and apprehend any accomplices or suppliers involved in the drug network.
