Gurgaon Police Demolish Illegal Restaurant Built by Habitual Offender on Govt Land
Illegal Gurgaon restaurant on govt land razed, owner a habitual criminal

In a decisive action against crime-linked encroachments, authorities in Gurgaon demolished an illegally constructed restaurant that was operating on government land in Kheda Khurampur village. The demolition drive, carried out on Wednesday, targeted a property built by a habitual criminal to generate illegal revenue.

Police-Led Demolition Targets Criminal's Illegal Asset

The operation was executed by a police team from the Farrukhnagar police station, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Santosh Kumar. The action was based on specific intelligence inputs and official records pertaining to criminals and their unlawfully acquired assets. The team received crucial assistance from the Public Works Department (PWD), which owns the encroached land.

Officials confirmed that the entire drive was completed peacefully under strict police supervision to ensure law and order was maintained throughout the process. This demolition marks the fifth such action taken by police in a single week, signaling an intensified crackdown.

Accused is a Habitual Offender with Violent Criminal Record

The individual behind the illegal construction has been identified as Rajat, also known as Rikki, a resident of Kheda Khurampur village. Police described him as a habitual offender with an extensive and violent criminal history.

His record includes charges related to violent assaults, intimidation, extortion, and repeated violations of the Arms Act. Authorities revealed that at least 10 criminal cases are registered against Rajat across the districts of Gurgaon and Rewari. These cases have been filed under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the Arms Act.

Despite being jailed on multiple occasions, Rajat has persistently continued his criminal activities to instill fear in the community and secure illegal financial gains, police stated.

Sustained Crackdown on Illicit Properties

The demolition of the restaurant is part of a broader, structured initiative by the Gurgaon Police. Officials stated that they have prepared a detailed plan to identify active criminals and take systematic action against illegal constructions linked to their illicit activities.

This strategy aims to dismantle the economic infrastructure that supports criminal enterprises, targeting properties built on encroached land, like the one in Kheda Khurampur. The focus is on severing the flow of illegal income used to fund further criminal operations.

The successful and peaceful execution of this operation underscores the coordinated effort between the police and other government departments like the PWD to reclaim public land and uphold the rule of law in the region.
