Thodupuzha: Idukki police have arrested a man involved in a Rs 15 crore theft case reported in Nashik, Maharashtra. The accused has been identified as Titus George, 36, a native of Mundoor in Palakkad district.
Arrest Details
According to police sources, Titus George was hiding within the limits of Vagamon police station after committing the theft. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a special squad led by the Idukki district police chief, along with two police officers who arrived from Nashik, tracked down the accused. He was subsequently arrested from a resort in Pullikkanam.
Other Crimes
The district police chief revealed that the accused is also involved in three other theft cases. These cases are registered at police stations in Kallikkad (Palakkad) and Chithode in Erode, Tamil Nadu. The police are conducting further investigations to uncover more details about his criminal activities.
The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the case, which had been under investigation for some time. The special squad's efforts were commended for their swift action in apprehending the suspect.
