Hyderabad Police Crack Down on Interstate Drug Network with Major MDMA Seizure

In a significant operation targeting narcotics trafficking, the Malkajgiri police in Hyderabad have successfully dismantled a suspected interstate drug supply chain. The crackdown led to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of a substantial quantity of MDMA, alongside other valuable assets.

Coordinated Operation Leads to Arrests at Nagole Crossroads

The Special Operations Team (SOT), in collaboration with the Nagole police, executed a meticulously planned operation based on specific intelligence. On Wednesday, officers intercepted two suspects—Junaid Raza Siddiqui, aged 36, and Sunil Subba, also known as Johny, aged 29—who were traveling on separate scooters at Nagole Crossroads.

A thorough search of their vehicles revealed MDMA packets cleverly concealed within the compartments. The illicit substance, packaged in polythene covers inside a black bag, was meticulously weighed and confirmed to be 25.65 grams of MDMA.

Substantial Seizures and Estimated Property Value

Beyond the narcotics, authorities seized a range of items believed to be connected to the drug peddling operation. The confiscated property includes:

  • Three mobile phones
  • Cash amounting to ₹5,190
  • Two scooters used by the accused
  • A weighing machine

The total estimated value of all seized assets has been pegged at approximately ₹3.61 lakh. A formal case has been registered under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Nagole police station, underscoring the seriousness of the offenses.

Background and Network Uncovered in Investigation

Investigations into the case have shed light on the backgrounds of the arrested individuals and the broader network they were allegedly part of. Junaid Raza Siddiqui and Sunil Subba were previously associated with operating a restaurant in Bandlaguda. According to police findings, they purportedly turned to drug peddling as a means to generate quick money, transitioning from legitimate business to illicit activities.

The duo is suspected to have been acting as local distributors within Hyderabad, sourcing MDMA through contacts identified as Mohammed Ansari and another individual named Raju. Police sources indicate that these suppliers are believed to have procured the drugs from Himachal Pradesh, routing them to Hyderabad for distribution across the city.

Both Ansari and Raju are currently absconding, and law enforcement agencies have intensified efforts to trace and apprehend them. The investigation aims to unravel further connections within this network and identify potential consumers who may have been supplied with the contraband.

Judicial Custody and Ongoing Probe

Following their arrest, Junaid Raza Siddiqui and Sunil Subba have been remanded to judicial custody. The police are continuing their probe to map out other links in this interstate drug network and track down any additional individuals involved in the supply chain.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Hyderabad police to combat drug trafficking and disrupt networks that threaten public safety. The seizure and arrests mark a critical step in curbing the flow of narcotics into the city, with authorities remaining vigilant in their pursuit of justice.
