Hyderabad Police Arrest Fraudster for Exploiting Minor and Extorting Cash
In a disturbing case from Hyderabad, a 29-year-old fraudster has been apprehended by Jubilee Hills police for sexually exploiting a 15-year-old girl and extorting a substantial sum of 13 lakh rupees in cash from her. The arrest follows a formal complaint lodged by the victim, leading to the accused being sent to judicial remand as authorities delve deeper into the allegations.
History of Harassment and Legal Action
The accused, identified as K Chandrasekhar Azad, also known as Arjun, hails from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. Police reports indicate that he initially befriended the minor girl through Instagram in July 2024, expressing romantic interest to establish frequent meetings. Upon discovering the relationship, the girl's parents filed a complaint, resulting in Azad being booked under multiple sections of the POCSO Act in April 2025, including stalking, criminal intimidation, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. He was arrested and remanded but secured bail in May 2025.
Escalation of Crimes and Financial Exploitation
Despite the legal proceedings, Azad resumed contact with the girl a few months later, using the phone of her driver's wife. Under the guise of starting a business, he coerced the girl into handing over 13 lakh rupees in cash, which she had stolen from her home. Compounding the exploitation, the driver's wife, aware of the communications, extorted an additional 9 lakh rupees from the girl to keep the affair secret from her parents. In March 2026, Azad further sexually exploited the victim when she was alone at home.
When the girl's family confronted her after learning of the renewed interactions, she disclosed the assault. This led to a new police complaint on Saturday, April 18, under sections for rape and extortion in the BNS, resulting in Azad's arrest on Sunday and subsequent court remand on Monday. Investigations into the driver's wife's involvement are ongoing.
Broader Investigation and Additional Victim
Jubilee Hills police have expanded their probe, registering a zero FIR based on a complaint from a 21-year-old student from Guntur. She alleges that Azad befriended her last year while she was searching for a hostel and sexually exploited her with false promises of marriage in Narsingi. After learning about his involvement with the minor, she filed a complaint on Sunday, prompting police to transfer the case to Narsingi Police Station for further action.
Inspector U Srinivasulu Reddy of Jubilee Hills police confirmed the developments, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges and the ongoing verification to determine if more women have been victimized in a similar manner. This case highlights critical issues of online safety and exploitation, urging vigilance in digital interactions.
