Violent Holi Clash in Rae Bareli District Leads to Multiple Arrests and Injuries
In a disturbing incident during Holi festivities, a violent clash broke out between members of two communities in Bachhrawan town, Rae Bareli district, leading to the arrest of eleven individuals and injuries to eleven people, including three women. The conflict erupted around 1:30 PM in the Sabzi Mandi locality. According to police reports, a group of youths from one community was moving through the area, playing Holi, dancing, and singing to DJ music. When they reached a particular neighbourhood, members of another community objected to the loud music and demanded it be stopped.
What began as a verbal objection quickly escalated into a heated argument. The situation deteriorated rapidly when stones and bricks were allegedly thrown from rooftops, causing panic among residents. Witnesses reported that several individuals descended to the streets and attacked others with knives and sharp-edged weapons, intensifying the violence.
Injuries and Medical Response
During the clash, eleven people sustained injuries. All injured individuals were immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Bachhrawan for initial treatment. Medical professionals at the CHC later referred two of the victims to the district hospital due to the seriousness of their conditions.
