The Hingoli police have achieved a remarkable breakthrough in a high-profile highway robbery case. They solved the entire incident within just twenty-four hours of its occurrence. This swift action led to the arrest of all nine individuals involved in the crime.
Swift Police Action Recovers Looted Cash
Police teams successfully recovered the entire looted cash amount of eight lakh rupees. They also seized the vehicles used during the dacoity. The total estimated value of the recovered items reaches twenty lakh rupees. This recovery followed an extensive operation covering nearly sixteen hundred kilometers.
Details of the Highway Robbery
The dacoity took place on Friday morning. The victim, Gnyaniba Bhosale, serves as the manager of the Parbhani District Central Cooperative Bank's Bodi branch. He was transporting eight lakh rupees in cash on his motorcycle from Vasmat to Chondi.
At approximately ten in the morning, a pickup truck deliberately rammed into his motorcycle in the Korta Pati area. Bhosale was thrown to the roadside and sustained injuries. A group of dacoits following the pickup immediately snatched the cash bag and fled the scene.
Immediate Police Response
Based on Bhosale's complaint, the Kurunda police registered a First Information Report under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They launched an immediate investigation into the matter. Hingoli Superintendent of Police Neelabh Rohan emphasized the organized nature of the crime.
"Given the gravity of the offence and the organised manner in which it was executed, we deployed the local crime branch," stated SP Rohan.
Coordinated Investigation Leads to Arrests
A special team formed under Additional SP Kamlesh Meena began working on the case. They employed multiple investigative techniques including technical surveillance and call data analysis. Confidential inputs provided crucial leads during the initial phase.
Within the first twelve hours, police arrested three accused persons. These included individuals who allegedly provided inside information about the cash movement. However, six key suspects managed to escape with the stolen money.
Cross-State Operation
Local Crime Branch officers received intelligence that the remaining suspects had traveled toward Tirupati. They were hiding in Bapatla city within Andhra Pradesh. LCB Assistant Inspector Shivsamb Gheware described the intensive investigation.
"Our team worked around the clock, analysing technical evidence and human intelligence. Once we confirmed the suspects' location, we immediately got into action," said Gheware.
A police team led by Gheware traveled to Andhra Pradesh and conducted a raid near Bapatla railway station. They successfully arrested all six absconding accused. From their possession, police recovered six point seven lakh rupees in cash.
Complete Chain Busted
Additional SP Kamlesh Meena confirmed that the entire dacoity chain has been dismantled. The coordination between district police and the Local Crime Branch ensured that no accused escaped justice. The operation required continuous travel and seamless coordination across state boundaries.
