The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the completion of a crucial security infrastructure project in Ayodhya. A new, ultra-modern administrative building and a high-tech control room, constructed near the revered Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex, are now ready to become operational. This facility is designed to significantly bolster the security architecture around the shrine.
Project Details and Strategic Importance
Built at a cost of Rs 11.28 crore, the facility spans 12,000 square feet of land situated just outside the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. The project was undertaken by the state's Home Department, with construction and design services handling the execution. Work on this strategic installation began in December 2023.
Officials stated that once commissioned, the facility will be operated exclusively by the police department. Its primary mandate is to enable close, round-the-clock surveillance of all activities in the vicinity of the temple complex. This will be particularly vital for managing the massive crowds expected during festivals, peak visitation periods, and major events.
Advanced Technology for Real-Time Monitoring
The structure is a G+1 building with the main control room housed in its basement. This nerve centre will be equipped with advanced technology systems to facilitate comprehensive monitoring. Key functionalities will include:
- Real-time CCTV surveillance across the temple area.
- Advanced crowd management and analytics.
- Efficient traffic regulation in the surrounding zones.
- Coordinated emergency response services.
According to officials, this integrated setup will play a crucial role in ensuring swift coordination among various security agencies deployed for the temple's protection.
Ready for Inauguration
Devvrat Pawar, the project manager from CNDS, provided an update on the construction status. He confirmed that nearly 98 percent of the work is finished, with only the construction of the boundary wall currently in progress. "The building is ready for inauguration and will be made fully operational soon after," Pawar stated.
The establishment of this dedicated control room underscores the administration's focus on employing technology-driven solutions for security. It aims to create a safe and secure environment for the millions of devotees visiting the Ram temple in Ayodhya, which has emerged as a focal point of national and religious significance.
