Haryana STF Arrests Four Gang Members in Transatlantic Crime Crackdown

The Haryana Special Task Force has made a significant breakthrough by arresting four key operatives of the notorious Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang. These individuals stand accused of orchestrating violent crimes in the United States, including a murder in California and an attack on another gangster.

Firearms Seized and Charges Filed

During the arrests, STF officials successfully recovered four illegal foreign-made firearms along with eight live cartridges. An FIR was officially registered against the four accused on January 10 at the Nissing police station in Karnal district. The charges are serious, filed under sections 111(4) for organised crime and 281 for rash driving of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, in addition to sections 25(6) and 54-59 of the Arms Act.

US Shootings Linked to Gangland Feud

Police investigations reveal that the twin shootings in the United States were a direct spillover from a deepening split between the Lawrence Bishnoi camp and the Brar-Godara alliance. The violence escalated on December 23, 2024, when the group allegedly orchestrated the killing of Sunil Yadav, also known as Goliya, in Stockton, California. Authorities state Yadav was targeted because he reportedly passed on information about Ankit Bhadu, who was killed by Punjab Police back in 2019.

Both Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar publicly claimed responsibility for Yadav's murder. Interestingly, until Yadav's death, these two infamous gangsters were actually part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang before they decided to part ways last year.

The same group faces accusations for another violent incident. On October 18 last year, they allegedly carried out an attack at a truck repair facility in Fresno, California. Their target was the notorious gangster and Bishnoi associate, Harry Boxer. This attack resulted in the death of one associate, Banwari Godara, and left another with gunshot injuries. Police have clearly labeled this assault as part of the escalating internal gang war.

Arrest Details and International Travel

According to STF officials, three of the accused had recently returned from the United States. Raman arrived in India via Mumbai airport on October 21, 2025. His associates, Balraj alias Balram and Ravinder Singh alias Ravi, followed him back in November.

The arrests unfolded in two stages. On January 10, an STF team operating in Karnal apprehended Raman and Lokesh. Both men are residents of Mundri village in Kaithal. Police caught them while they were travelling in a bulletproof vehicle. The seizure from this arrest included two .30 Beretta pistols, one Zigana pistol, a 9mm pistol, and eight live cartridges.

The remaining two accused, Balraj and Ravinder, were not free for long. Authorities arrested them on Wednesday from Pundri in Kaithal. A senior STF official confirmed that all four individuals are active operatives of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang.

Confessions and Transnational Crime Operations

STF chief B Satheesh Balan provided detailed insights from the investigation. He noted that Raman had no prior criminal cases in India before this arms recovery case. However, after his arrest, Raman made key disclosures about extortion rackets being managed from the United States.

"He confessed that he, along with his Indian associates and an American accomplice, killed Sunil Yadav in California," Balan stated. "The gang paid $2,500 to an American shooter specifically for Yadav's murder."

Regarding the Fresno attack, Balan elaborated further. "In the October 2025 case, Raman, along with Balraj and Ravinder and three American associates, including one named Will, planned and executed a firing on Harry Boxer. This happened because the three accused had aligned with the Godara gang, while Boxer remained loyal to Lawrence Bishnoi. Although Harry Boxer survived the attack, two of his associates were killed. Raman provided the weapons to Will for the firing on Boxer. Balraj and Ravinder were both physically present at the spot during the attack. The gang paid $7,500 to Will for carrying out this violent act."

Background and Gang Connections

Balan also shed light on Raman's background and entry into the criminal network. Raman originally went to the United States in 2017 on his own passport, which he later damaged. He then sought asylum, remained in custody for nine months, and eventually obtained a US green card in 2022.

"After the October 18 attack on Harry Boxer, Raman returned to India via Mumbai from California within just two days. After about ten days, the other two accused also reached India," Balan added.

Police investigations indicate that Raman's entry into this dangerous network began when the Bishnoi and Godara groups were still united. Investigators believe he came into contact with Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara through gangster Virender Sambhi from Kaithal. Notably, Sambhi was himself killed by the Godara gang in the United States this past Monday.

"Through Virender Sambhi, Raman met gangster Bhanu Rana of Karnal and other key members of the united gang," Balan explained. "These individuals were involved in multiple crimes across Punjab and Haryana, including grenade attacks, firing incidents, and extortion. Through Bhanu Rana, Raman eventually met gangster Noni Rana and Rohit Godara. We have informed the NCB and CBI for further action. We are also actively investigating how Balraj and Ravinder managed to travel abroad."

The accused gangsters allegedly ran sophisticated extortion rackets from abroad. They orchestrated firing incidents targeting businessmen, their homes, and their offices across Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan whenever their extortion demands were not met.
