Gurgaon man killed for objecting to public drinking, body burnt

A 64-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by three individuals after he objected to them drinking in a public place in Khandsha, Gurgaon. The accused subsequently transported his body to a remote location and set it ablaze in an attempt to destroy evidence.

Victim Identification and Missing Report

The deceased has been identified as Balram. He went missing on June 12. His son filed a complaint at the Sector 37 police station on June 14, leading to the registration of a case. The body was found burnt in an open area approximately 500 meters from the village.

Altercation Leads to Fatal Assault

According to sources, the accused claimed that Balram frequently abused them. On the night of his disappearance, an altercation erupted, during which the three men assaulted him with sticks, resulting in his death.

Body Disposal and Theft of Ring

Two of the accused then carried the body on a motorcycle to a nearby cowshed belonging to an associate and set it on fire. They remained at the scene until the body was completely incinerated. Investigators also discovered that the accused had removed a ring from the victim’s finger and sold it to a jeweler for approximately Rs 70,000. The ring has since been recovered.

Arrest of Accused

The breakthrough in the case came after police analyzed technical evidence, CCTV footage, and local intelligence. A team from the Sector 37 police station arrested the three accused on Thursday.

Accused Identified

The accused have been identified as Vishesh Tomar (18), a resident of Shamli in Uttar Pradesh; Mithun (30), from Fakana village in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh; and Sandeep (41), from Kharkhoda in Sonipat. Mithun operated auto-rickshaws in the area, while Vishesh and Sandeep were involved in animal husbandry. Sandeep had previously been booked in a murder case in Sonipat, and Mithun in assault cases in Ghaziabad and Gurgaon.

“We will recover the weapons used in the crime and collect further evidence,” said Sandeep Turan, police spokesperson.
