Tragic End to Gurgaon Job Hunt

A promising life was cut short in the early hours of Saturday when 30-year-old Ajit Balhara fell to his death from the terrace of a paying guest accommodation in Badshapur, Gurgaon. The victim, who hailed from Rohtak, had arrived in the city just two days earlier with hopes of securing employment and building a better future.

The Fateful Night

According to police reports, Ajit had been staying with his friend Saurav at Centre Homes PG. The two friends spent most of Friday evening drinking together before deciding to sleep on the terrace to escape the summer heat.

"We were just relaxing and talking about our plans. I never imagined something like this could happen," Saurav told investigating officers, expressing his shock and grief over the incident.

The Early Morning Tragedy

The situation took a tragic turn around 4 am on Saturday when Ajit woke up to relieve himself. Still disoriented from the effects of alcohol, he wandered too close to the edge of the terrace and lost his balance.

The sound of his fall alerted neighbors, who immediately rushed to the scene. They found Ajit critically injured on the ground below. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police Response and Investigation

Police and forensic teams quickly arrived at Centre Homes PG to conduct their investigation. The body was sent for autopsy before being handed over to the grieving family.

A police spokesperson stated, "We have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC and will take further action if any foul play is suspected." Initial investigations suggest this was a tragic accident rather than intentional harm.

The incident has left the local community in shock and serves as a sobering reminder about safety precautions, especially when consuming alcohol in elevated areas with inadequate safety measures.
