Gurgaon Resident Critically Injured in Extortion-Related Assault

A resident of Badshahpur in Gurgaon is fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit after a vicious assault. The attack occurred because the victim, Surender, refused to pay a hefty sum of two lakh rupees as extortion money demanded by a known criminal.

Chronic Extortion and Police Action

According to a police complaint filed by the victim's brother, the accused, identified as Tillu from Ravidas Mohalla in Badshahpur, had been pressuring the family for money over an extended period. Surender, who built and rented out temporary rooms and huts in the area, was a target. Tillu had allegedly already extorted one lakh rupees from him earlier through threats.

This incident comes despite recent police action where illegal encroachments linked to Tillu were demolished by the Badshahpur police. Officials revealed that the accused had installed handcarts and tin-shed structures on government land, illegally charging shopkeepers Rs 100 per day to operate from them. Even after the demolition drive, the accused continued his threats and extortion demands.

Criminal History and Ongoing Manhunt

Police records paint a picture of a habitual offender. Tillu has a staggering 13 First Information Reports registered against him at Badshahpur and other police stations. His chargesheet includes serious crimes like extortion, assault, attempted murder, and illegal encroachment.

Following the brutal attack on Surender, the Gurgaon police have registered a case and formed multiple teams to track down and arrest the accused. The investigation is actively underway.

Scrutiny of Assets and Promised Strict Action

Sources indicate that because Tillu continued his illegal activities even after police action against his encroachments, authorities are now taking a harder line. His personal properties will be thoroughly scanned to identify any further illegal structures or assets acquired through unlawful means. Strict legal action is promised if any irregularities are found during the verification process.

The case has highlighted the ongoing challenge of land mafia and extortion rings in the area, with police now under pressure to deliver a swift arrest and demonstrate concrete action against such criminal elements.
