Gurgaon: Mercedes Vandalised by Guards After Wrong-Side Driving Row
Gurgaon: Guards Vandalise Mercedes in Road Dispute

A luxury Mercedes car was severely damaged by security guards in Gurgaon following a heated dispute that erupted after the vehicle's driver was accused of driving on the wrong side of the road. The late-night incident occurred outside the bustling Unitech Cyber Park in Sector 31 and was captured in a video that quickly went viral, prompting police intervention.

The Incident: From Argument to Vandalism

According to eyewitness accounts, the confrontation began when security personnel stationed at the cyber park noticed the Mercedes travelling against the flow of traffic. The guards attempted to stop the vehicle, which led to a verbal argument. The situation escalated rapidly when the driver allegedly assaulted the guards. In retaliation, the guards, armed with sticks and batons, began striking the luxury car repeatedly, causing significant damage in full public view.

Police Action and Preventive Measures

Acting on the viral video, a police team from Jharsa police station swiftly identified and apprehended four individuals involved in the incident. The four were identified as Ankit Kumar, Aakash, Hariom, and Chaman. Ankit, Aakash, and Hariom are all residents of Uttar Pradesh and were employed as security guards at Unitech Cyber Park. Chaman is a resident of Alipur in Gurgaon and works for a company within the same complex.

Police officials clarified that the root of the conflict was a dispute over the removal of barricades near the entry point of the park. An argument over this issue between one guard and the car driver sparked the larger altercation. Notably, the police decided against registering a formal criminal case or FIR. Instead, they opted for preventive action under relevant legal provisions. All four accused were bound down and sternly warned against engaging in any further disputes that could disturb public order.

Official Stance on Public Order

Explaining the rationale behind the preventive measure, officials stressed the importance of maintaining peace and deterring similar incidents in busy commercial hubs like Cyber Park. They emphasized that public altercations and wilful damage to property would not be tolerated, as such acts can quickly spiral and disrupt the daily life of the area. The step was seen as a move to de-escalate the situation and send a strong message about upholding law and order in public spaces.
