In a grim discovery, the body of a delivery agent was found in a deserted plot in Gurgaon's Sector 37, leading police to register a case against his wife and her uncle. The victim, identified as Faizal, was found in an advanced state of decomposition, with his body tightly wrapped in a bedsheet and showing clear signs of a violent assault.
Gruesome Discovery in a Vacant Plot
The body was discovered on Thursday in a largely deserted vacant plot in Sector 37. According to police and local accounts, the secluded nature of the location meant the remains had likely been lying there for about ten days before being noticed. The victim's legs and hands were tied, and visible marks on his neck pointed to strangulation.
An autopsy later revealed the brutal nature of the crime. Faizal was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon, with his throat and hands slit. In a chilling detail, a piece of a blade was recovered from his throat during the post-mortem examination and handed over to the investigating officers.
Family Dispute Turns Deadly
Investigations point towards a troubled domestic life as a potential motive. The accused, the victim's wife Ujama and her uncle Aftab, are originally from Uttar Pradesh. Police indicated that Faizal was a habitual drinker, which led to frequent fights between the couple. Faizal worked as a deliveryman and lived in a rented accommodation in Kadipur Enclave, Sector 10.
The legal process was initiated based on a formal complaint lodged by the victim's father, Fareed Idrisi. A case has been registered under sections 103(1) (murder) and 3(5) (act done by multiple persons) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Sector 10 police station. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
