Gurgaon Ayurvedic Doctor Arrested for Attempted Murder on Delivery Rider

Police in Gurgaon arrested a 41-year-old government ayurvedic doctor on Monday. The arrest came after shocking CCTV footage emerged. It showed the doctor repeatedly running his SUV over a Swiggy delivery rider in Hayatpur village. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Violent Attack Captured on Camera

The attack occurred around 10:30 PM on Sunday near a Swiggy warehouse in Hayatpur. Tinku, a 43-year-old delivery rider from Rewari district, stood outside the warehouse with his motorcycle. Dr. Naveen, a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) graduate, drove his black Scorpio SUV fitted with a siren directly into Tinku.

Police stated that Naveen allegedly threatened to kill Tinku during the assault. Witnesses reported the doctor was in a fit of rage. The CCTV footage reveals a horrifying sequence of events. Naveen's vehicle approaches with its siren blaring before hitting the motorcycle and throwing Tinku onto the road.

Repeated Assault and Police Action

According to officers, the footage shows Naveen driving at high speed, hitting the victim, then reversing and moving forward again to ram him multiple times. He allegedly ran over the delivery partner three to four times before fleeing the scene. In another clip, the accused is seen driving rashly, smashing into the motorcycle and repeatedly reversing to cause further damage.

Tinku suffered serious injuries. He was first rushed to a government hospital in Sector 10. Due to the severity of his condition, doctors later referred him to a private hospital in Rewari for advanced treatment.

Parking Dispute Sparks Extreme Violence

Police investigations uncovered a motive behind the brutal attack. Naveen, a resident of Hayatpur village posted at a primary health centre in Daulatabad, held a long-standing grievance. He told officers that the delivery partner frequently parked his motorcycle in a narrow lane near his residence in Bhagat Singh Colony.

This parking caused inconvenience when Naveen tried to take his vehicle out. He carried this resentment for some time before attacking the victim in a sudden outburst of anger. The police officer explained that the accused acted on this pent-up frustration.

Legal Proceedings and Arrest

Based on Tinku's statement, police registered a case at Sector 10 police station. They charged Naveen under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Acting swiftly on the complaint, a police team from Sector 93 police post arrested the doctor.

Authorities seized the SUV from the victim's residence as evidence. The arrest highlights how minor disputes can escalate into serious criminal acts. It also raises concerns about road rage and violence against delivery workers.

During the incident, some delivery partners standing at a distance attempted to record the attack on their mobile phones. Their footage provided crucial evidence for the police investigation. The case continues to develop as authorities gather more details.
