Panic spread through a village in Gurgaon's Bilaspur area after two parked vehicles were deliberately set on fire by unidentified individuals in the dead of night, leading to the complete destruction of the cars and damage to a nearby house.
Incident Details and Timeline
The alarming event unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday, around 2 am. According to the complaint, a Mahindra Thar (registration HR26FG3086) and a Maruti WagonR (HR26EL2071) were targeted while parked outside the residence of Raman Yadav. The fire rapidly engulfed both vehicles and subsequently spread to the front portion of Yadav's house, causing substantial damage to the property.
Local residents, alerted by the flames, gathered at the spot and attempted to douse the fire but were unsuccessful. They subsequently informed the police. A team from the Bilaspur police station along with forensic experts reached the location to begin investigations.
Police Case and Suspects Named
In his formal complaint, Raman Yadav named two specific individuals as suspects, pointing to a history of enmity between the families. He identified one person from Sidhrawali and another, a woman, from Wazirabad. Based on his complaint, the Bilaspur police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 326(F) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). This section pertains to damaging property or public infrastructure using fire or explosives.
Yadav alleged that this was not an isolated attack. He recalled a previous incident on October 4 this year, when the front windshield of his Thar was smashed at the same location.
CCTV Footage and Key Allegations
While the complaint names two persons, the crucial CCTV footage from Yadav's residence, which captured the incident over a span of approximately 16 minutes, shows a single masked individual carrying out the act. Yadav has made a significant claim that an inflammable substance was sprayed on the Thar before it was set alight, a detail he insists is clearly visible in the video evidence.
Further strengthening his allegations, Yadav stated that prior to both incidents, the woman suspect from Wazirabad was seen visiting Sidhrawali along with her son and others in an Eco van. He claimed that meetings were held at the house of the other suspect, and these movements were also recorded by CCTV cameras in the vicinity.
Police officials confirmed that they are meticulously examining the CCTV footage from the complainant's house and surrounding areas to identify the perpetrators and establish the sequence of events. The investigation is ongoing.
