Rekha Rathod, who also operates a furniture business in the Hanuman Tekri area, maintained close contact with Shantiben. However, tensions began to escalate when Shantiben started asking for the return of the money and jewellery she had lent.
Premeditated Murder on March 22
The tragic incident occurred on the night of March 22 around 8 pm. Shantiben went to Rekha Rathod's furniture shop, where investigators believe a murder conspiracy had already been planned in advance. According to police reports, Rekha Rathod, along with her husband and two other accomplices, allegedly carried out the murder in a brutal and calculated manner.
The accused first intoxicated Shantiben, then strangled her using a clutch wire typically found in motorcycles. After committing the murder, the suspects reportedly stuffed the body into a sack and dumped it in a deserted drain in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence and conceal their crime.
