A late-night railway tragedy in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, has resulted in the death of two individuals and left four others injured. The incident occurred when a group of six passengers, who had just disembarked from a train, were struck by a speeding goods train while attempting to cross the tracks.

The Fatal Mistake and Immediate Aftermath

The accident took place around 11:30 pm on Saturday at Madan Mahal railway station. The victims were passengers who had alighted from the Jan Shatabdi Express. According to details, the group, comprising three women and three children from Narsinghpur, mistakenly stepped down on the wrong side of the platform. They were trying to reach platform number 1 by crossing the railway tracks when a freight train moving at speed hit them.

Casualties and Condition of the Injured

The impact proved fatal for 40-year-old Pushpa Soni and her four-year-old grandson Rajveer. Both succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Among the injured, 50-year-old Sagar Bai remains in a critical condition. The other survivors include 22-year-old Shivani Patel and her two young children, aged four and two, who sustained injuries. In a narrow escape, another woman identified as Sanno Bee managed to avoid the train and emerged unharmed from the harrowing incident.
