Godhra Social Media Creator Sparks Drama During Police Transfer from Hospital
In a dramatic turn of events in Godhra town on Friday night, Zakir Zabha, a social media content creator whose videos allegedly triggered rioting against police last year, was involved in a chaotic incident during a transfer from the hospital to the police station. The episode unfolded as police personnel from the Godhra B Division station escorted Zabha and another accused in a liquor prohibition case to Godhra Civil Hospital for medical examinations.
Medical Examination and Police Decision
While Zabha's medical examination was completed promptly, the process for the other accused was taking longer. Faced with this delay, police officials made the decision to return Zabha to the police station rather than keep him waiting at the hospital. This move set the stage for the subsequent commotion.
On-Road Disturbance and Police Response
During the car journey back from the hospital, Zabha reportedly complained of feeling uneasy and nauseated. In response, police stopped the vehicle and instructed him to put his head out to vomit. However, Zabha allegedly stepped out of the car and refused to re-enter, creating a scene on the road near Holi Chakla. The situation escalated to the point where police had to call for reinforcements to manage the disturbance and escort him back to the police station.
Further Resistance and Legal Action
Upon arrival at the B Division police station, Zabha continued his defiance by sitting on the ground outside and refusing to enter the premises. Police were forced to use physical force to take him inside. Inside the station, he allegedly resisted being placed back in the lockup, requiring officers to push him in. As a result of this entire incident, a new offence has been registered against Zabha at the B Division police station regarding the disturbance caused.
This incident highlights ongoing tensions in Godhra related to Zabha's previous alleged involvement in rioting, with the latest episode adding to his legal troubles and underscoring the challenges faced by law enforcement in handling such cases.
