Ghaziabad Police Face Mystery Over Skeleton in Burnt Auto
More than a full day has passed since police discovered a human skeleton inside a charred auto in Tronica City, Ghaziabad. Officers still cannot determine the identity of the deceased person. They do not even know whether the remains belong to a man or a woman.
Autopsy and Forensic Reports Awaited
Authorities are currently waiting for crucial autopsy and forensic reports. These documents should provide vital clues about the victim. The reports might reveal the cause of death and help establish the person's identity.
Police Trace Vehicle to Missing Owner
Siddharth Gautam, the Assistant Commissioner of Police for Loni, provided some details about the investigation. Using the vehicle's number plate, police officers located the auto owner's residence. Family members at the house informed them that the owner had not returned home for over a month.
However, friends of the owner reported seeing him just one week ago. This conflicting timeline adds another layer of mystery to the case. Police plan to conduct a DNA test. They will compare samples from the driver's family with the skeletal remains found in the auto. This test should confirm whether the body belongs to the missing auto driver.
Discovery of the Burnt Vehicle
According to police records, local residents first spotted the burnt auto on Ghitora Road on Wednesday morning. They immediately alerted the authorities. By the time a police team arrived at the location, the vehicle was completely destroyed by fire.
During their inspection, officers made a grim discovery. They found a body placed in the lower rear section of the auto. Initial observations suggest someone placed the body inside the vehicle before setting it ablaze. The corpse was almost entirely charred by the intense fire.
Challenging Investigation with Few Clues
The crime scene presented significant challenges for investigators. The burnt auto was found approximately two kilometers from the Delhi-Dehradun expressway. Police could not locate any CCTV cameras within the immediate radius of the discovery site.
Investigators formed five special police teams to expand the search. These teams scanned CCTV footage from within a five-kilometer radius of the crime scene. They also reviewed more than one hundred missing person cases from the area. Despite these extensive efforts, police have not yet identified the body.
Wider Police Coordination
Police stations across Ghaziabad have been contacted regarding this case. Authorities have also reached out to police stations in Delhi. This coordination aims to check if any missing person reports match the description of the discovered remains. The investigation remains active as police pursue all possible leads.
