Delhi Police and Jharkhand ATS Interrogate Four in Jamshedpur Fake Passport Investigation
Law enforcement agencies have taken action in Jamshedpur. Delhi Police and Jharkhand's Anti-Terrorism Squad conducted a joint operation. They questioned four people on charges of living with fake passports. The questioning happened late on Monday and continued into Tuesday morning.
Details of the Raid and Detentions
Officials raided two locations simultaneously. One raid occurred at a rented house under Golmuri police station limits in Jamshedpur city. The other raid took place in Islammagar, Kapali town, within Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Authorities detained four individuals for interrogation during these raids.
A senior ATS official provided details about the operation. Delhi Police received intelligence about three Afghan nationals residing in Jamshedpur with fraudulent passports. They approached Jharkhand ATS for assistance in the matter. The ATS seized the passports of the Afghan nationals during the operation.
The official stated clearly: "We asked them to appear before Delhi police for further questioning."Charges and Release of Detainees
All four individuals were released following their interrogation. This included the three foreign nationals and one Indian resident. The primary charge against them involves violation of the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025.
The ATS officer emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing. "The probe is not over," the officer confirmed. Authorities have not disclosed the identities of those questioned.
Background of the Case
The case originated from intelligence received by Delhi Police. A Golmuri resident named Adil Hussaini provided information about the Afghan nationals. Hussaini himself was caught at Delhi International Airport in October 2025. He was allegedly traveling overseas using two different passports.
Investigators suspect the three Afghan nationals belong to a larger network. This network appears involved in document forgery for creating fake passports. Their alleged purpose involves sending people overseas, particularly to Middle Eastern countries.
Additional Developments
The fourth person questioned is an Indian resident from Kapali. Authorities detained him on charges of complicity with the Afghan nationals. He allegedly assisted others in traveling to Middle East countries using fake passports.
The ATS official mentioned possible future actions. "If required, we will call him to Delhi for further questioning," the official stated. Notices have also been issued to some local residents. They may need to join questioning in Delhi when summoned.
This case highlights ongoing efforts by Indian law enforcement agencies. They continue to investigate immigration violations and document forgery networks operating within the country.
