Police Uncover Foreign Glock Pistol in Seized Scorpio, Link to Boxer Gang

In a significant breakthrough, police in Hanumangarh on Tuesday recovered a foreign-made Glock pistol hidden in a Punjab-registered Scorpio car. This vehicle had been seized earlier after 188 grams of heroin were found in it during a search on January 24, according to superintendent of police Harishankar.

Initial Arrests and Investigation

The Scorpio was intercepted by a joint team of the anti-gangster task force (AGTF) and Hanumangarh Junction police station on January 24. Three men in the vehicle were arrested at that time: Bobby Chhajgiriya (25), Ajay Kamboj (25), and Rahul alias Sahil (18), all residents of Punjab. Police recovered 188 grams of heroin from their possession, leading to the seizure of the vehicle, which was then parked at the police station.

During the subsequent investigation, it emerged that the trio had links with the Vishal Pachar alias 'Boxer' gang. This revelation prompted further action by the authorities.

Recovery of the Glock Pistol

The Glock pistol was not detected in the initial search of the Scorpio. It was only recovered following intensive interrogation of the arrested men. Superintendent of police Harishankar stated that the pistol was found hidden in the vehicle, highlighting the thoroughness of the police investigation.

Expanded Arrests and Gang Connections

Police later arrested the owner of the seized Scorpio along with two other accused, bringing the total number of arrests in this case to six since January 24. All have been booked under the NDPS Act. During interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed their involvement in inter-state drug trafficking and arms smuggling operations.

The SP further revealed that the trio was planning to take revenge for the murder of Golu Pandit, a member of the Vishal Pachar alias 'Boxer' gang. Vishal Pachar, a native of Sriganganagar district, has been hiding abroad for a long time, adding an international dimension to the case.

Implications and Ongoing Efforts

This case underscores the persistent efforts of Hanumangarh police in combating organized crime. The recovery of both narcotics and a sophisticated firearm points to a broader network of illegal activities. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details and connections, aiming to dismantle such criminal operations effectively.
