"On March 19, around 10 pm, police received information that a vehicle had collided with a tree in the Chitrahata police station area," DCP Agarwal stated. "Police immediately reached the spot. In this incident, 5 people died, and 4 were injured, who have been sent to the hospital. Postmortem proceedings are underway."

Investigation Points to Driver Fatigue

Preliminary investigations by the Agra police have identified driver fatigue as the primary cause of the accident. The driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the loss of control that resulted in the fatal crash into the tree.

"The driver had fallen asleep which caused this accident. Investigation is ongoing," DCP Agarwal added, emphasizing that authorities are continuing their examination of the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
