Panic gripped the town of Mahilpur in Hoshiarpur district on Wednesday afternoon when unidentified assailants opened fire at a garment shop located on Shaheedan Road. The incident, which occurred around 3:30 PM, sent shockwaves through the local community as three youths riding a motorcycle allegedly targeted the "Re Load" clothing store.
Shopkeeper's Narrow Escape and Immediate Aftermath
The shop owner, identified as Jassi, a resident of Gajjar, had a miraculous escape from the attack. According to preliminary reports, Jassi was present inside the shop when the attackers arrived on their motorcycle, fired multiple shots, and fled the scene swiftly. The firing resulted in shattered glass at the shopfront, with visible bullet marks left behind as stark evidence of the violence.
Senior police officials, including SP (D) Manpreet Singh, DSP Palwinder Kumar from Chabbewal, and SHO Madan Singh, rushed to the spot along with a police team to initiate a thorough investigation.
