Two Separate Hit-and-Run Incidents in Gurgaon Region Result in Tragic Deaths

In a distressing series of events, two fatal hit-and-run accidents have occurred in the Gurgaon area, claiming the lives of a pedestrian and a motorcyclist within days of each other. The incidents highlight ongoing concerns about road safety and reckless driving in the region.

First Accident: Pedestrian Struck in Bilaspur

On Sunday, a 37-year-old man, identified as Sunil Saini, lost his life after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near a petrol pump on the Noorpur-Bhora Kalan road in Bilaspur. Saini, a resident of Bhora Kalan village, was employed at a warehouse in Noorpur and was walking back home after completing his shift when the tragic incident occurred.

The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision. Family members rushed Saini to a hospital in Rewari, but due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to NIMS Medical College in Jaipur. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Monday.

Following the accident, a complaint was filed by his cousin, Jitender Singh, leading to a case being registered at the Bilaspur police station. The case has been filed under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the unidentified driver. Police authorities have stated that efforts are currently underway to identify the vehicle involved in this fatal hit-and-run.

Second Accident: Motorcyclist Killed in Farrukhnagar

In a separate incident, a 58-year-old man, Harikishan Yadav from Sadhrana village, died during treatment after a speeding car rammed into his motorcycle near Farrukhnagar on March 27. The accident occurred around 4:30 PM when Yadav was returning home after attending a function.

A white Maruti Brezza, bearing registration number HR26FM6067, was being driven at high speed and in a rash manner, according to the complaint. After the collision, the driver briefly stopped before fleeing towards Farrukhnagar, leaving Yadav critically injured.

His son, Rishi, who witnessed the accident, rushed to assist his father, but Harikishan lost consciousness shortly after. Passers-by shifted the injured man to SGT Hospital in Budhera, and he was later taken to a private hospital in Sector 90 for further treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Police reported that the victim was declared unfit to provide a statement by doctors during his treatment. Based on the complaint filed by his son and the medico-legal report, a case was registered at the Farrukhnagar police station under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125A (endangering life or personal safety of others) of the BNS. Authorities are actively working to trace the accused driver and verify the details of the vehicle involved in this hit-and-run case.

Ongoing Investigations and Road Safety Concerns

These back-to-back accidents have raised serious questions about road safety measures and enforcement in the Gurgaon area. Both cases involve hit-and-run scenarios where the drivers fled the scene, complicating police investigations.

  • In the Bilaspur incident, Sunil Saini's death underscores the dangers faced by pedestrians on busy roads, especially during evening hours.
  • In the Farrukhnagar case, Harikishan Yadav's tragic end highlights the risks associated with speeding and reckless driving on regional thoroughfares.

Local authorities have emphasized their commitment to identifying the culprits and ensuring justice for the victims' families. The registration of cases under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita reflects the legal framework being applied to address such negligent and fatal driving behaviors.

As investigations continue, residents are urged to exercise caution on the roads and report any suspicious activities to the police. These incidents serve as a somber reminder of the critical need for enhanced traffic management and stricter adherence to driving regulations to prevent further loss of life.
