Fake IPS Officer Arrested After Reprimanding Real Police in Lucknow
A man impersonating an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer was arrested in Lucknow after he confronted and reprimanded real police personnel. The incident occurred when the accused, dressed in a uniform, approached a group of on-duty officers and questioned them aggressively, saying, 'Where's your cap? Why are you not saluting me?'
The impostor's confidence faltered when the officers asked him to produce his identity card. He claimed he would bring it later and quickly left the scene. However, the police grew suspicious and began an investigation.
Further inquiries revealed that the same individual had cheated a local shopkeeper by posing as a senior police officer. The shopkeeper filed a complaint, leading to the man's arrest. The accused has been identified and is being questioned for possible involvement in other similar crimes.
