Hyderabad: Mohammed Abdul Naveed, 44, a data centre technician from Tolichowki and the accused in the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge hit-and-run, was formally arrested on Sunday after police brought him back to Hyderabad from Ooty, where he was hiding with his family.
Details of the Incident
Madhapur Inspector D Krishna Mohan said Naveed had fled after seeing news and videos of the accident circulating on social media. He stated that on the morning of April 19, Naveed first went to Jahangir Dargah at Kothur, then drove via Bangalore Highway to Mysore, where he stayed a day before moving to Ooty, where he checked into a hotel for three days.
Arrest and Charges
Police traced him by tracking his mobile phone and brought him to Madhapur police station on Sunday, where he was formally arrested in connection with the death of businessman Gosa Shyam Raj, 32, who was struck on the bridge in the early hours of April 19 and died that afternoon.
