The deceased has been identified as Susai Balan, a resident of Sadaiampalayam Anna Teresa Road. The fatal confrontation began when Balan, in an inebriated state, accused his brother-in-law, 38-year-old Francis Bhaskar, of placing a log on his driveway. Bhaskar, who also resided nearby as a neighbor, quickly contacted his own brother-in-law, 32-year-old Aloysius Raj, to intervene in the dispute.
Aloysius Raj arrived at the scene with two friends, 32-year-old Manikandan and 31-year-old Manoj Kumar. In a horrifying turn of events, the four men launched a vicious assault on Balan, using logs as weapons. The attack was so severe that Balan sustained critical injuries and lost consciousness on the spot.
