Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday flagged off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The trains will run from Varanasi to Pune and from Ayodhya to Mumbai, marking a significant boost in rail connectivity for the region.
Enhanced Connectivity and Comfort
The new trains are equipped with modern amenities and are designed to provide a comfortable journey for passengers. The Amrit Bharat Express series is known for its affordability and efficiency, catering to long-distance travelers.
Varanasi-Pune Route
The Varanasi-Pune Amrit Bharat Express will cover a distance of approximately 1,500 kilometers, reducing travel time significantly. The train will halt at major stations including Prayagraj, Jabalpur, and Nagpur, providing seamless connectivity to central and western India.
Ayodhya-Mumbai Route
The Ayodhya-Mumbai Amrit Bharat Express will connect the holy city of Ayodhya with India's financial capital. This route is expected to boost tourism and trade, with stops at Lucknow, Kanpur, and Surat among others.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, PM Modi emphasized the government's commitment to improving railway infrastructure and passenger amenities. He stated that the new trains are a step towards realizing the vision of a modern and efficient railway network in the country.
The launch of these trains is part of a larger initiative to introduce 100 new Amrit Bharat Express trains across India, aimed at enhancing connectivity and providing affordable travel options to the masses.
