A shocking incident of reckless driving unfolded in Gurgaon on Sunday evening when an allegedly intoxicated taxi driver went on a rampage, crashing into multiple vehicles and leaving five people injured. The chaotic scene caused significant disruption in Sector 4 before police could intervene.

The incident occurred around 7 pm on Sunday in the bustling Sector 4 area of Gurgaon. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a white taxi entering the stretch at an alarmingly high speed. The vehicle, seemingly out of control, began colliding with other vehicles in a sequential manner. "The driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle," stated one witness, adding that the car was moving so swiftly that pedestrians and other motorists had no time to react or move aside.

The sequence of destruction started with the taxi plowing into several two-wheelers. Its momentum unchecked, it then crashed into autorickshaws and cars ahead of it. The impact was severe, leaving a trail of damaged vehicles and debris scattered across the road. Injuries and Immediate Aftermath

The reckless driving spree resulted in injuries to five passersby. Among the injured, a woman was reported to have sustained serious injuries, while the others suffered minor wounds. Displaying commendable community spirit, locals immediately rushed to the aid of the victims. Police identified the accused driver as Raju, aged 28, a resident of Laxman Vihar in Gurgaon. He was apprehended right from the accident spot, and the taxi involved in the incident was seized by the authorities. Multiple eyewitnesses at the scene claimed that the driver appeared heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Law enforcement has taken swift legal action. A formal case has been registered against the driver at the Sector 9A police station. The charges include reckless driving and endangering human lives.
