Amit Kumar Agrawal went missing on Saturday evening, prompting his family to file a missing person complaint at the Sadar police station. The complaint detailed that ransom calls demanding Rs 15 lakh were made from Agrawal's mobile phone, raising immediate suspicions of abduction. This development triggered a swift police response to investigate the case further.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Using advanced technical surveillance and mobile tracking techniques, the police were able to trace Agrawal's phone to Surya Highland Society. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) Naushad Alam stated that Vikas Khandelwal was taken into custody after his location matched key leads from the investigation. During intensive questioning, the accused reportedly confessed to the murder of Amit Kumar Agrawal.

Background of the Incident

The victim, a resident of the Dabudih area in Dhanbad, had been attempting to recover a Rs 1 crore loan taken by Khandelwal for approximately a year. It is reported that both parties had decided to go for a settlement, leading Agrawal to visit Khandelwal's residence, where the tragic incident occurred. This confrontation allegedly escalated into violence, resulting in Agrawal's death.

Recovery of Body and Post-Mortem

Following the confession, the police recovered Agrawal's body from Khandelwal's residence.
