Delhi Robbery Probe Uncovers International Drug Syndicate

Delhi Robbery Investigation Leads to Major International Drug Bust

What began as a routine investigation into a robbery case in Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area has escalated into a significant international drug syndicate bust. The Delhi Police have successfully dismantled a sophisticated narcotics network, arresting four individuals and seizing substantial quantities of cocaine and MDMA with an estimated street value of approximately Rs 1.1 crore.

From Robbery Suspect to Drug Network Revelation

The breakthrough came when police apprehended a suspect in connection with the Laxmi Nagar robbery. During initial questioning, officers noticed the individual appeared to be under the influence of narcotic substances. Upon further interrogation, the suspect confessed to having consumed MDMA purchased from a local peddler identified as Mohammad Hasan, aged 23.

This crucial information prompted the Anti-Narcotics Squad to launch a targeted investigation that would ultimately reveal a much larger criminal operation spanning international borders.

International Connections Uncovered

The police investigation led to the arrest of four key individuals involved in the drug distribution network:

  • Mohammad Hasan, the primary Indian peddler
  • Razia, a local dealer operating within Delhi
  • Diouf Solomon, also known as Oskar, a Senegalese national
  • Bemah, a Liberian national

The arrests represent a significant blow to an international drug trafficking operation that had established connections between local Indian dealers and African suppliers.

Substantial Drug Haul Recovered

During coordinated raids across multiple locations in Delhi, police recovered commercial quantities of narcotics including:

  • 120.18 grams of high-purity cocaine
  • 36.86 grams of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy)

Both quantities exceed the threshold for commercial drug trafficking under Indian narcotics laws, indicating the scale of the operation police have disrupted.

Coordinated Police Operation

The investigation unfolded through a series of carefully executed police actions:

  1. Mohammad Hasan was first apprehended near Preet Vihar on March 25 following the initial tip from the robbery suspect.
  2. Information obtained from Hasan led police to Diouf Solomon (Oskar) in Sriniwaspuri.
  3. Subsequent raids were conducted in East of Kailash and other locations across Delhi.

In addition to the narcotics, police seized substantial evidence including:

  • Two scooters used for drug delivery, one of which was stolen and fitted with a fake number plate
  • Specialized packaging materials for narcotics distribution
  • Multiple mobile phones used for communication within the network
  • Passports belonging to the foreign nationals
  • Undisclosed amounts of cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales

Ongoing Investigation

Police officials have confirmed that the investigation remains active as authorities work to identify additional members of the drug syndicate and trace the international supply chain. The involvement of African nationals suggests connections to broader international drug trafficking routes that may extend beyond India's borders.

The successful operation demonstrates how local criminal investigations can sometimes uncover much larger organized crime networks operating across international boundaries. Delhi Police have emphasized their commitment to continuing the crackdown on drug trafficking operations in the national capital region.
