Police officials announced on Tuesday that the operation resulted in the arrest of over 500 criminals. These individuals are linked to various gangster networks operating in the city.

Simultaneous Raids Across Multiple Districts

Officials stated that the operation was conducted simultaneously across multiple districts. The primary aim was to dismantle active gang modules. Police also wanted to curb violent crime and prevent inter-gang rivalries. During the drive, police teams carried out coordinated raids and searches. They targeted identified hotspots and hideouts used by gang members and their associates.

Authorities reported that several habitual offenders were apprehended. Police also arrested absconders wanted in serious cases. These cases include murder, attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, and arms offences. Senior police officers closely monitored the entire operation. They directed district and specialized units to ensure coordinated action and swift execution.

Sending a Strong Message to Criminal Elements

The crackdown aimed to send a strong message to gangsters. Officials said it targeted criminal elements operating freely in the city. This major operation follows recent actions against specific gangs. Earlier on Saturday, Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested three shooters. These individuals were linked to the Himanshu Bhau gang.

Police arrested them in connection with an attempted murder in the Bawana area. Authorities also recovered several weapons from the accused. The seized items included a sophisticated pistol and three live cartridges from each person. Police seized one stolen motorcycle during this operation as well.

Details of the Himanshu Bhau Gang Case

Vicky Haddal, a resident of Pooth Khurd, was allegedly operating the Himanshu Bhau gang from abroad. Police said Haddal was driven by personal enmity. He instructed the arrested gang members to target Yamin Chandu, a resident of Sultanpur Dabas. The motive was to avenge the murder of his uncle, Dharambir. Dharambir had earlier been killed by Yamin's nephew.

On December 8, Yamin Chandu was travelling towards Sultanpur Dabas. The accused were waiting near a community centre on a motorcycle. They deliberately hit his scooty and opened fire. Fortunately, Yamin escaped unharmed from this attack. Investigations later revealed that the gang had conducted a recce of the area a day prior to the incident.

Recent Arrests in Rohini

Acting on specific information, police apprehended three more members recently. The information was about the movement of shooters linked to the Himanshu Bhau gang in Rohini. Police arrested Punit, Aniket, and Mohit on January 3. The accused have been arrested under relevant provisions of law. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is currently ongoing.

This 48-hour crackdown represents a significant effort by Delhi Police. It demonstrates their commitment to tackling organized crime and making the capital safer for residents. The operation's scale and results highlight ongoing challenges with gang violence in the city.
