Delhi Police Officers Injured in Early Morning Burglary Operation
In a dramatic incident in west Delhi, two police officers sustained injuries while attempting to apprehend burglary suspects in the Shiv Nagar area early Sunday morning. The confrontation occurred around 5 am when a specialized police team was tracking individuals wanted in connection with a recent burglary case.
Police Team Intercepts Suspected Burglars
The operation was conducted by the anti-snatching and burglary cell of the outer district. The team, consisting of ASI Vinod, head constable Ravi, constable Devender, and constable Abhishek, arrived at a residence in Gali No. 5, Shiv Nagar. According to police reports, the suspects had arrived on a stolen motorcycle and were allegedly in the process of committing a burglary when they were intercepted by the officers.
Violent Confrontation Leads to Injuries
As the police officers moved to overpower the suspects, a violent scuffle ensued. The accused individuals reportedly attacked ASI Vinod and constable Abhishek with a knife during the confrontation. ASI Vinod sustained a stab injury above his right eyebrow, while constable Abhishek also received injuries in the altercation. Despite the sudden and aggressive attack, the police team demonstrated remarkable resilience and managed to subdue both suspects at the location.
Suspects Identified and Evidence Seized
The two accused have been identified as Babloo Singh and Dharam Singh, both residents of Nangloi. Following their apprehension, police seized the stolen motorcycle used by the suspects as well as tools believed to have been employed for burglary purposes. The swift action by the police team prevented the completion of the burglary attempt and led to the immediate detention of the suspects.
