NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have dismantled an alleged prostitution racket disguised as a spa in the Paharganj area, arresting a 29-year-old man accused of running the illegal operations, officials confirmed on Sunday.
Operation Details
According to police, the operation was carried out following a tip-off about immoral trafficking activities being conducted from the premises in central Delhi, as reported by news agency PTI. To verify the information, a police team conducted a decoy operation. A constable, posing as a customer, entered the spa and was allegedly offered sexual services in exchange for money.
"The decoy customer handed over pre-recorded currency notes worth Rs 1,800 to the spa operator and was introduced to a woman for sexual services. After receiving a pre-arranged signal, the raiding team entered the premises and conducted a search," a senior police officer said.
Evidence and Arrest
During the raid, police allegedly found evidence suggesting that prostitution was being carried out at the spa. The alleged operator, identified as Saved Ali alias Shabir, was arrested. Police also rescued five women from the premises during the operation. Officials said the identities of the rescued women have been withheld.
