Two Separate Stabbing Incidents Rock Delhi's Moti Nagar Park

A tragic Sunday evening at a DDA park in West Delhi's Moti Nagar turned violent with two separate stabbing incidents that left a teenager dead and another man seriously injured. Police have confirmed that the two attacks were not connected and occurred at different locations within the large park area.

First Incident: Teenager Murdered Over Mobile Phone Dispute

The first and more severe incident involved the brutal murder of a 16-year-old boy following what police describe as an argument over a mobile phone. Authorities received information at approximately 6:37 PM from a local hospital regarding the admission of a teenage boy who had been declared brought dead upon arrival.

The victim, a resident of Inderlok, had sustained a single stab injury below his right shoulder blade. Preliminary investigations reveal that the attackers had allegedly asked the boy for his mobile phone to make a call. When the teenager refused, stating that he did not have sufficient balance, the situation quickly escalated.

A senior police officer explained the sequence of events: "A scuffle ensued after the boy refused to hand over his mobile phone. During the physical altercation, he was stabbed in what appears to be a sudden escalation of tensions." The officer added that this information was based on statements provided by witnesses present at the scene.

Police authorities emphasized they are investigating the case from all possible angles, including the possibility of robbery as a motive, though the exact circumstances remain under active investigation.

Second Incident: Man Injured Following Minor Altercation

Approximately one hour later, at around 7:50 PM, police received another emergency call from a hospital regarding a second stabbing incident within the same DDA park. The victim in this case was identified as Mohammad Danish, a 25-year-old man who suffered a stab injury to his back.

Danish was initially taken to Acharya Bhikshu Hospital for emergency treatment but was subsequently referred to a higher medical facility due to the seriousness of his injuries. He is currently undergoing specialized treatment at the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where his condition is being closely monitored.

According to police accounts, the second incident occurred following what began as a minor altercation. The victim's shoulder reportedly brushed against another person, leading to a sudden argument that quickly turned violent and resulted in the stabbing.

Police Confirm Incidents Are Unconnected

Addressing speculation about a possible link between the two violent episodes, a senior police officer provided crucial clarification. "Though both incidents took place inside the same DDA park, they occurred at different spots within the extensive grounds," the officer stated.

The officer further elaborated: "At this preliminary stage of investigation, there is no evidence to suggest that the two cases are connected in any manner. They appear to have been committed by two different groups under separate circumstances."

Law enforcement officials confirmed they are actively scanning available CCTV footage from the park and surrounding areas to gather additional evidence. Multiple investigative teams are working to establish the complete sequence of events for both incidents and identify the perpetrators involved.

The DDA park in Moti Nagar, known for its expansive layout, has become the center of a significant police investigation following these back-to-back violent incidents that have shaken the local community and raised concerns about public safety in recreational spaces.
