Delhi Police Suspect Two Motorcycles Used in Shalimar Bagh Murder

Police investigating the murder of a woman in northwest Delhi's Shalimar Bagh area now believe the shooters probably used two motorcycles during the crime. Officers seized one of these motorcycles near the Rohini helipad on Sunday.

CCTV Footage Reveals Suspect Movements

Sources familiar with the investigation said CCTV footage shows one suspect arriving alone on a motorcycle. Another person soon joined him at the location. Investigators strongly suspect this second person arrived on a separate motorcycle.

Police believe the shooters later abandoned the second motorcycle somewhere in northwest Delhi. This strategy appears designed to mislead investigators trying to trace the suspects' movements after the shooting.

Police Search for Motorcycle Thief

Investigators are also searching for a man who stole the seized motorcycle last September. While this individual might not be directly involved in the shooting, understanding his connection to the vehicle remains crucial.

"Understanding whether he sold the vehicle directly or it passed through intermediaries before reaching the shooters is crucial to the case," one investigator explained.

Suspects Captured on Multiple CCTVs

The suspects were captured on CCTV cameras at multiple locations as they fled. These locations include Urban Extension Road, Vijay Vihar and Budh Vihar. The footage suggests the shooters fled toward Haryana's Panipat area.

Investigators noted another important detail from witness accounts. One of the shooters spoke with a distinct Haryanvi accent during the incident.

Details of the Saturday Shooting

Family members described the moments before the murder. Rachna Yadav, a witness in her husband's murder case, was returning from the last rites of a neighbor. She stopped at a shack near her house to wash her hands and feet when the shooters attacked.

The assailants were lying in wait and shot her point blank. The attack killed Rachna Yadav on the spot.

Previous Family Tragedy

This shooting follows another family tragedy. In May 2023, Rachna's husband Bijender Yadav was also shot from close range outside a bakery in Bhalswa village.

Bijender worked as a property dealer and faced at least nine criminal cases against him. These included murder charges and cases under the Arms Act. Police believed rivals killed him.

Relatives claimed unidentified men opened fire at Bijender's office in Bhalswa village a few months after his murder. They said this was meant to intimidate the family.

Previous Threats Against Rachna

Kanika, the victim's 32-year-old elder daughter, shared concerning details about previous threats. "About one and a half years ago, Rachna was followed and threatened on the way to court," she said.

Following these threats, Rachna started attending court hearings through video calls instead of appearing in person.

Main Accused Still Absconding

The main accused in Bijender Yadav's murder case remains Bharat Yadav, who is still absconding. Investigators now believe this same individual is behind Rachna Yadav's killing too.

Police continue their investigation into both connected murders while searching for all individuals involved.
