Gang Claims Responsibility on Social Media
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post. According to the post, the gang targeted the gym after their phone call to the owner went unanswered. Police officials stated they are currently verifying the authenticity of this social media claim.
Police Response and Evidence Collection
After receiving information about the firing at R K Gym, police teams rushed to the scene and immediately cordoned off the area. Forensic teams were called in to collect evidence from the crime scene.
A senior police officer revealed that investigators recovered a live cartridge from the spot. Authorities have registered a case and formed multiple teams to identify and trace the assailants involved in the attack.
Cautious Police Approach
Commenting on the social media post claiming gang involvement, the officer stated, "We are aware of the post and are looking into it. At this stage, it would be premature to comment on the involvement of any gang." He added that police are examining all possible angles in their investigation.

Police said they are scanning CCTV footage from surrounding areas to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify the escape route used by the attackers. The investigation aims to piece together the complete timeline of the incident.
Possible Connection to Second Shooting
In what appears to be a related incident, two unidentified men on a motorcycle allegedly fired three to four rounds in the air outside a house in east Delhi's West Vinod Nagar during the early hours of Tuesday. This firing occurred around midnight outside the residence of Jitender Gupta, with no injuries reported.
A senior police officer confirmed that investigators are probing a possible link between the two shooting incidents. Police received information about the motorcycle shooting through a PCR call.
Eyewitness Account and Security Measures
An eyewitness told police that the suspects, wearing helmets, were seen recording a video of the house before the pillion rider fired shots in the air and fled the scene. A mobile crime team and forensic science laboratory team inspected the location, though no empty cartridges or bullet fragments have been recovered so far.
Given the sensitivity of the matter, authorities have deployed two armed sentries outside the complainant's residence for security purposes. Police noted that an earlier case related to an extortion threat had already been registered at Madhu Vihar police station, suggesting possible connections to ongoing criminal activities in the area.
