Delhi Bureaucrat's Daughter Murder: Ex-Help's Chilling Confession

NEW DELHI: In a chilling revelation, a former house help has confessed to the brutal rape and murder of a senior bureaucrat's daughter in south Delhi. The accused allegedly entered the house on Wednesday morning, found the victim alone, and attacked her with a lamp before committing the sexual assault while she was unconscious. He then dragged her downstairs to force open a biometric safe, stealing cash and jewellery.

Chilling Details of the Attack

During police interrogation, the accused disclosed disturbing details. The autopsy report confirmed injuries to the woman's head and body, including abrasions and a fractured nasal bone. The cause of death was asphyxia due to ante-mortem strangulation, believed to be inflicted using a mobile phone charger cable. Sources said the accused showed no remorse, claiming he attacked the victim because she refused to give him money. He offered no explanation for the sexual assault.

Premeditated Crime?

Police sources revealed that the accused entered the house early morning and went directly to the rooftop study room, where the victim was awake and studying. When she questioned his presence, he lied, saying her mother had called him to collect pending salary. The situation quickly escalated, with the accused attempting to overpower her for sexual assault. When she resisted, he used a study lamp to bludgeon her unconscious and then raped her.

After the assault, the suspect tried to access a biometric locker requiring a thumbprint. He dragged the bleeding, unconscious victim downstairs, repeatedly pressing her blood-stained fingers against the sensor. However, the locker failed to open, likely because the victim had already died, causing blood circulation to cease. He then used a screwdriver to force the safe open, stealing cash and jewellery, which he packed into a bag from the house.

Escape and Background

Before fleeing, the accused changed his blood-soaked clothes into a pair of trousers belonging to the victim's brother and slippers found on the premises. Police believe his criminality was fueled by an addiction to online gambling on social gaming apps, leading to a debt of around Rs 7 lakh.

While the suspect initially claimed robbery as the primary motive, investigators suspect the attack was premeditated, driven by both sexual violence and theft. The accused was fired six weeks ago after being caught misappropriating funds and receiving complaints from neighbors and local shopkeepers. He viewed his dismissal as a personal humiliation and returned to his village in Alwar for six weeks.

Additional Charges

Separately, the accused faces charges in Alwar for sexually assaulting a friend's wife hours before returning to Delhi. Police confirmed the Alwar victim has completed her medical examination and is set to record her statement in court. Alwar police plan to take the accused into custody for further investigation.

Police have also questioned the accused's father and five others in connection with the case.

(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault.)
