New Delhi: A 75-year-old woman residing in northwest Delhi's Rana Pratap Bagh area was allegedly robbed of jewellery valued at approximately Rs 25 lakh. The accused, a woman who worked in the locality ironing clothes, has been arrested, and the stolen items have been recovered, police said.
Incident Details
According to police, the victim's family had been saving the jewellery with the intention of converting it into a fixed deposit. When they discovered the items missing, they immediately alerted the authorities. A case was registered, and an investigation was launched.
Investigation and Arrest
During the initial inquiry, suspicion fell on the woman, a resident of Kabir Nagar, who had access to the house. She had reportedly visited the house shortly before the theft and subsequently went missing. DCP (northwest) Akanksha Yadav confirmed the arrest and recovery of the stolen items. The accused has been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway.
