Dehradun police have stated they have found no evidence so far to support allegations of racial abuse in the tragic death of Prem Kumar Bhowmik, a 24-year-old student from Tripura. The young man was found deceased in his rented accommodation in the Dalanwala area on February 2, 2024.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun, Ajit Singh Vaisya, the initial investigation has not uncovered any proof of racial discrimination or abuse leading to the incident. The body of Prem Kumar Bhowmik was discovered in his room. Authorities have sent the body for a post-mortem examination to establish the medical cause of death.
