In a distressing incident in New Delhi, a 28-year-old property dealer lost his life due to an alleged accidental gunshot. The event occurred in the New Ashok Nagar area of east Delhi, leading to the arrest of his cousin by local authorities.

The deceased has been identified as Pawan Kumar, a resident of Dallupura. According to police reports, Kumar sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest on Monday. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
The weapon involved in this tragic accident belonged to his 31-year-old cousin, Himanshu. Police confirmed that Himanshu possesses a valid firearm license and was recording a video at the time of the incident. Authorities have seized the firearm, along with ten live cartridges, and Himanshu's mobile phone as part of their investigation.
Viral Video Captures Final Moments
A video that has since gone viral on social media platforms shows the moments leading up to the shooting. In the footage, a man can be seen loading the gun while the person recording provides guidance. The individual then cocks the firearm, initially pointing it outward before turning it towards his own chest and looking directly at the camera.
Tragically, the pistol allegedly discharged accidentally at this point, causing the victim to collapse to the floor. The person behind the camera is heard panicking in the video. Police are currently investigating whether the individuals were attempting to create social media reels at the time of the incident.
Legal Action and Investigation
Law enforcement officials have registered a case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to culpable homicide not amounting to murder, along with relevant sections of the Arms Act. The case has been filed at the New Ashok Nagar police station against the cousin.
