Couple kidnaps minor to prove they have child in Hyderabad

In a shocking incident from Hyderabad, the Golconda police successfully apprehended a 24-year-old man and his former wife for allegedly kidnapping a four-year-old girl and presenting her as their own child. The arrest took place on Sunday following a swift investigation that began when the child went missing.

The Disturbing Kidnapping Case

The troubling chain of events began on Friday when Nuzath Fatima, the victim's mother, filed an official complaint with authorities. She reported that her young daughter had disappeared while returning from her grandmother's residence at Saleh Nagar Kancha in Golconda. The distraught mother's report immediately triggered a police response.

Investigators quickly reviewed CCTV footage from the surrounding area, which revealed crucial evidence. The footage showed a woman wearing a burqa forcibly taking the young girl. This visual evidence became the breakthrough that set investigators on the right path.

Swift Police Action and Arrests

Within an impressive 24-hour timeframe, law enforcement officials tracked down and arrested the two accused individuals. The police identified them as Salma Begum and Md Faiyaz, who had previously been married to each other.

According to police statements, the couple's motive stemmed from their complicated relationship dynamics. The investigation revealed that after Begum became pregnant and opted for an abortion, Faiyaz divorced her and married another woman. However, the former couple recently reconciled and began living together again, a situation that Faiyaz's parents strongly disapproved of.

The Twisted Plan for Parental Approval

Police officials explained that the accused devised what they believed was a solution to gain parental acceptance. Convinced that showing Faiyaz's parents they had a child would secure their approval, the couple allegedly planned and executed the kidnapping of the four-year-old girl from Saleh Nagar Kancha on Friday.

The accused fled the scene in an auto-rickshaw and kept the young girl hostage at Faiyaz's residence. Their plan, however, unraveled quickly due to the efficient police work that followed the mother's complaint.

Following their arrest, both accused have been sent to judicial custody. The police have seized important evidence including the girl's clothing, the auto-rickshaw used in the crime, and two mobile phones belonging to the accused.

Most importantly, authorities confirmed that the four-year-old victim has been safely rescued and reunited with her mother, bringing relief to the family after a traumatic experience. The quick resolution of the case demonstrates effective police work in responding to child abduction cases in Hyderabad.
